FIC President Provided Statement for AmCham Perspective
15. April 2012
FIC President accepted AmCham’s invitation to take part in the parallel interview in the April’s edition of Perspective magazine, which was released on April 15th.
The comment provided by FIC President Costin Borc on question what are his main recommendations to the new government: what does he expect from the future government, what should be its priorities and how can Serbian economy recover is bellow.
We recommend continuous work on improvement of business environment. Serbia should offer a competitive advantage to investors in terms of ease of doing business, less red tape and flexibility of labour relations, and not only in terms of corporate profit tax.
FIC promotes continuance of EU integration process; setting predictable business climate; enactment of by-laws and better law implementation; public sector reform; cancellation of unnecessary bureaucracy and clear plan to stop corruption.
FIC is advocating for speedy opening of the economy, finalization of privatization and withdrawal of the state from non-strategic segments. In view of defined public debt limits, new PPP law offers opportunities to sustain investment in infrastructure and improve local utilities sector.
