Real-Estate Committee Elected President

We are happy to announce that on the meeting held on Thursday, May 24th, the Real-Estate Committee elected President whose mandate would last for two upcoming years - till year 2014.

Andrew Peirson at Jones Lang LaSalle was elected President while elections for the Committee Vice President were postponed for the next Committee meeting. Previous Committee President Djordje Pavkovic Bugarski from Hauzmajstor addressed Committee members by saying that it was his great pleasure as one of the initiators of re-establishing of this Committee in August 2009, to set up its structure and steer its work in the period of previous four years. Committee successfully widened its membership having now around 40 companies that are currently its members and maintained regular communication with the Government participating also in the work of relevant Government's bodies such as Working Group of Infrastructure of the National Council for Competitiveness. Apart from that, Committee engaged in providing concrete proposals for improvement of various draft regulations concerning real-estate sector, hold Working Session at the FIC reality Check Conference 2011 where FIC positions with regards to all burning issues pertaining to real-estate field were presented and further discussed with relevant Ministry representatives and had regular communication with stakeholder community such as EU Delegation, IMF, advocating for better business conditions in Serbian market. Since the roles of the President and Vice President are crucial for the efficient work of the Committee, FIC Board of Directors and Executive Office wishes to thank outgoing Committee President Djordje Pavkovic Bugarski and Hauzmajstor for the many years of support and valuable contribution to the FIC Real-Estate Committee and overall FIC platform. At the same time, we express deep appreciation and acknowledge the readiness of Andrew Peirson and Jones Lang LaSalle to invest additional efforts and take on this role.

The Agenda of the meeting also included defining Committee agenda for the 2012-2013 period and White Book 2012 project.
