IKEA SERBIA STOPS SELLING SINGLE-USE PLASTIC PRODUCTS

IKEA Serbia has announced the withdrawal of all single-use plastic products from its offer to help preserve the environ-ment and create a positive impact on humans and the planet

The decision refers to straws, freezer and ice bags, and gar-bage bags, which used to be part of the IKEA Belgrade de-partment store’s offer, the company said in a statement. The decision also includes single-use plastic products used at the IKEA restaurant and bistro, such as cutlery, straws, glasses, plates, and swizzle sticks. Visitors to the IKEA Belgrade department store can now find eco-friendly substitutes. Instead of plastic ones, they can use bamboo straws and straws made of hard-rolled paper. Moreover, instead of disposable freezer bags, IKEA now offers a more sustainable option –reusable plastic bags with a zipper.
